Paper 2 Activity 2

Guatemala September 6th 2011

Dear Luis:

Hello Luis, how are you doing? I hope that you are fine. It has been long time since we last talked. You never finished telling me what happened with the problem with your girlfriend. Could you solve it? We need to get together to catch up. The reason why I’m writing you is because your sister told my sister that you have serious problems with the IB program because your best friend was diagnosed cancer. I know that it is a hard situation that also affects your IB scores but you don´t need to drop out from everything. I can give you some tips to handle this situation and to start your first year of the IB program.

My first advice is that you need to select the subjects in superior level that you find easier because the subjects in superior level are more difficult than the ones in the other level. You can choose subjects in standard level that you don’t like or you are not very good. One important thing is that you need to realize that you will spend a lot of time studying and enormous amounts of hours working. Don´t freak out of this, you only need to organize yourself, and you need to do a schedule. With your schedule you will finish all your projects and works in time and you will have time to study for the exams. The key of this is to be organized because the projects and laboratories are not actually very difficult, you only need to have the time and dedication to do them. The benefit of doing this is that you will feel comfortable delivering everything on time without any concern or pressure. But the most important is that your will prepared to the university because you will develop the ability to organize yourself to do the works in the university and also in your life.

I hope that this advice can help you in your IB program; if you take this advice I guarantee you that the IB will be easier. And I hope that your friend continues to be better. I am sure that you will know how to support him.

Sincerely yours,

Danilo De Leon Coosemans
